In December 2020, Netflix released a beautiful series called Dash & Lily, which revolves around a notepad of letters between them that started from the shelves of the Strand Library, which I was very excited to visit when travelling to New York. After that I learned that it appeared in many films and series such as Remember Me 2010 by Robert Pattinson and 2009 Julia and Julie by Amy Adams and Meryl Streep.

بدأ بنجامين باس The Strand Bookstore ككشك لمجموعة كتبه الشخصية في 4th Avanue، حتى توسع، وانتقل إلى موقعه الحالي عند ساحة الاتحاد Union Square ..

على مر السنين، نمت شعبية المتجر وحجمه، وفي عام 1957، انتقل إلى موقعه الحالي في شارع برودواي والشارع الثاني عشر. اليوم، تغطي The Strand 18 ميلاً من الكتب، مع أكثر من 2.5 مليون عنوان في مخزونها.

Benjamin Bass began The Strand Bookstore as a kiosk for his book collection on 4th Avenue until it expanded, moving to its current location on Union Square.

Over the years, the store grew in popularity and size, and in 1957, it moved to its current location at Broadway and Twelfth Street. Today, The Strand covers 18 miles of books, with over 2.5 million titles in its inventory.

They have three branches in New York City, the main one at Union Square.

The library’s journey begins from the outside, where it is surrounded by many books.

عندهم مقهى صغير ومطحنة قهوة في الطابق الأرضي اسمها بروكلين Brooklyn Roasting Company، عندهم ٣ مقاعد فقط، ويُسمح لكل شخص الجلوس لمدة ٣٠ دقيقة حتى يكون هناك فرصة لغيره.

They have a small coffee shop and coffee grinder on the ground floor called Brooklyn Roasting Company, they only have three seats, and each person is allowed to sit for 30 minutes, so there is a chance for others.

يتكون من ٣ طوابق ونصف، والموظفون يمكنهم مساعدتك في البحث عن الكتب التي تهمك، هناك أقسام أدبية مليئا بالروايات، وأقسام مختصة مثل الفنون ودراسات المرأة وريادة الأعمال والكثير غيرهم..بالإضافة إلى قسم للأطفال.

يستضيف المتجر أيضًا العديد من الأحداث والندوات ، حيث يمكن للزوار الالتقاء والتفاعل مع المؤلفين المفضلين لديهم.

It consists of 3 and a half floors, and the staff can help you search for books that interest you. There are literary sections full of novels and specialized areas such as arts, women’s studies, entrepreneurship, and many others..in addition to a section for children.

The store also hosts many events and seminars where visitors can meet and interact with their favourite’ authors.

تعاملت مع شركة باصات لوكس اكسبرس خلال رحلتي الأخيرة إلى بولندا ودول البلطيق، من وارسو إلى فيلنوس، فيلنوس إلى تالين، ومن تالين إلى ريغا.

The first trip was with the Simple Express bus (part of the lux express group), and it was the best one because it had a TV with movies and music. All of them had free wifi, but not all had a TV.

الرحلة الأولى كانت مع باص سمبل اكسبرس (أحد باصات لوكس اكسبرس)، وكانت أفضل رحلة لوجود تلفزيون مليء بالأفلام والأغاني الجديدة الرائعة!

كل الباصات فيها انترنت، ولكن ليس جميعها فيها تلفزيون.

You can book everything online, print the ticket, and show it to the bus driver at the bus station (or bus stop).

يمكنك حجز مقعدك اون لاين، طباعة التذكرة، وتقديمها للسائق وقت الرحلة عند محطة الباص أو نقطة توقفه التي سوف تسافر منها.

I liked the prices, service, timing, Wifi, Power supply to charge my phone, TV, drivers, and the coffee machine inside the bus (It was so awesome to make a free coffee during the trip). The toilet inside the bus was clean, and I gave it 10 of 10.

حبيت الأسعار، الخدمة، الإلتزام بالوقت، الإنترنت، الشاحن عند المقعد، التلفزيون، السواقين، وآلة القهوة الموجودة داخل الباص (فيها جميع أنواع المشروبات الساخنة من لاتيه واسبرسو وهوت جوكلت وغيره).

بالإضافة إلى أن الحمام كان نظيف جداً، وكأنه حمام طيارة ..وأعطيه ١٠ من ١٠.

After booking your ticket, you can book a taxi service too. I did that on my trip from Vilnius to Tallinn, and I found a Taxi driver waiting for me next to the bus at Tallinn bus station, which was so comfortable! It cost me only 6.50 Euro, which was paid online. The official taxi company in Tallinn is (Tallink). I liked the taxi system there, because all the drivers are honest and friendly, and you don’t have to worry about swindling.

بعد حجز التذكرة أون لاين، هناك خيار بحجز تاكسي من محطات الباصات في بعض المدن. جربت هذه الخدمة من فيلنوس إلى مدينة تالين، ووجدت سائق التاكسي في إنتظاري عند الوصول (بالإضافة إلى أن سائق الباص كان يحمل اسمي في ورقة ليذكرني بالتاكسي، ويتأكد أنه موجود لأخذي). كان سعر التاكسي ٦.٥٠ يورو فقط إلى فندقي في وسط البلدة القديمة. أسم شركة التاكسي الرسمية في تالين هي “تالينك“، وحبيت خدماتهم وأسعارهم، السواقين لطيفين وصادقين ومحترفين، ولا يجب عليك القلق من الإحتيال والنصب، لأن الشركة رسمية وتستعمل العداد.

وهو مكان رائع ومليئ بالحياة والنشاطات 

وهذه الصورة ليوم رياضي مفتوح يجرب فيه الطلبة أنواع الرياضات المختلفة في الجامعة قبل التسجيل فيها 

It’s the first thing that you will see when you come inside the uni, and it’s the heart of the university. 

وبعض أيام الأسبوع يكون هناك سوق لبضائع متنوعة ..من أفلام واكسسوارات وعطور وملابس وحتى فواكه وخضار ونوتيلا كريب 

A lot of sellers come to the university to sell diffrent things like: DVDs, anime toys, perfumes, clothes, fruits and vegetables too. 

There is an open day in the beginning of each semester 

هناك أيضاً مقاهي متنوعة ومطاعم ..بالإضافة إلى مطعم “صب واي”

There is a lot of coffee shops and restaurant in the atrium ..and there is a “Subway” too. 

وأيضاً هناك سوبرماركت ومكتبة وصالون وصرافات 

There is a supermarket, a bookshop, salon, and few ATMs

المكتبة

وهناك مكان خاص بقرب الباب الرئيسي للمكتبة، فيه مراجع مهمة وأبحاث الطلاب السابقين ..ويجلس فيه الطلاب للعمل على بحوث التخرج

There is a place next to the library main door, for students who want to work on their dissertations

هناك مبنى صغير خارج المبنى الرئيسي اسمه 

Multi-Faith centre 

وهناك مكانين للوضوء للنساء والرجال ومسجد يمكن الصلاة فيه ..بالإضافة إلى صلاة الجمعة

I am a loyal customer for Amazon since 2008, and I like to order most of my books and video games from it.

In 2012, I created a seller account to sell all the unwanted things like: Books, DVDs, iPad, and other things. I gained more than $1,000 from selling my stuff online, and I think it’s a great idea to start selling your stuff too, and have some cash from the things around you.

من أكثر من ٦ سنوات وأنا أعشق التسوق من موقع أمازون..ودائماً أطلب الكتب والفيديو جيمز منه، سواء كنت في قطر أو بريطانيا 

في عام ٢٠١٢ سجلت في أمازون كبائع خاص، لبيع أشيائي ..من كتب وأفلام وأجهزة إلكترونية ..وكسبت منه مالا يقل عن ٥٠٠٠ ريال في فترة قصيرة ..فأنا أؤومن أنه علينا إستغلال الأشياء التي نملكها بإستعمالها، أو التبرع فيها، أو بيعها.

وسوف أذكر بعض الخطوات لطريقة فتح حساب بائع:

أفتح حسابك، وأضغط على 

Your seller account 

لإنشاء حساب بائع “سوف يكون متفرع من حسابك الرئيسي”

Open your general account, and select your seller account.

إذا كنت تريد بيع أشيائك الشخصية أختر 

Sell as indivaidual

وإذا كنت تريد أن تبيع منتجاتك كبائع محترف أختر

Sell as a professional  

Choose a seller type

ثم اختر أسمك الثاني “كبائع”

Find a seller name for yourself 

وبعدها أدخل كل معلوماتك مثل العنوان والحساب البنكي الذي سوف تتم تحويل مبلغ الأشياء الُمباعة عليه

Then fill all the required thing like billing information and address

إذا أردت البدأ ببيع أي شيء تملكه أبحث عنه أولاً في امازون، وإذا وجدته أختر I have one to sell-sell on Amazon 

If you want to start selling your things, try to find it and select “I have one to sell-Sell on Amazon”

Fill all the required data, and choose your preferred methods for delivery 

وبعدها ضع حالة المنتج – جديدة، جيدة جداً أو غيرها 

أي ملاحظة: مثال (الاي فون لاتوجد معه علبة، أو الكتاب فيه هاي لايت)

ثم تأتي خطوة اختيار طريقة الشحن، يمكنك إختيار شحن محلي “إذا كنت تريد بيع منتجاتك في أمريكا أو بريطانيا إذا كنت طالب أو مقيم هناك” ويمكنك إختيار شحن دولي حتى يمكنك بيع الأشياء على أي شخص في أمازون.

يمكن الدخول دائماً على حسابك كبائع ..لمراجعة أي طلبات جديدة تأتيك أو متابعة رسائل الاستفسارات من الزبائن ..وعلى اليمين سوف تجد أي مبالغ جديدة سوف يتم تحويلها لك في الشهر الجاري ..حيث يتم إيداع المبلغ في حسابك البنكي بعد أسبوعين من إرسال الطلب

You can login in to your seller account anytime to check the new orders, customers inquiries, and your payment balance “which normally takes 2 weeks from the date you sent the order”

إذا وصلك أي طلب من زبون، يمكنك طلب طباعة عنوان الشخص ليتم لصقه على علبة أو ظرف الشحن وإرساله، ويجب عليك بعدها أن تؤكد على شحنها ليعلم الزبون بذلك.

When you get any new orders, print the label and stick it to order and send it. Then, confirm that the order have been dispatched.
